Florian Haydel, Jr.

Florian A. Flo Haydel, Jr. passed away at 6:22am on November 1, 2009 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Atlanta, Georgia. He was 82 years old, a native of Vacherie, Louisiana and has residents in Pierre Part and Baton Rouge. He retired from Morton Salt Company after 42 years of service and was a World War II Army Veteran. His hobbies included gardening, particularly tomatoes. He was a founding member of the Louisiana Bonsai Society. He also enjoyed fly fishing, playing the guitar and cooking. Visiting will be at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St George Dr, Baton Rouge, La. on Friday, November 6 at 11:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm. Conducted by Father Clarence J. Waguespack. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his 2 daughters, Jacqueline Haydel and Melissa Missy Diaz and husband Dr. Peter Diaz; 2 sisters, Muriel H. Goss and Yvonne H. Newcombe; 1 brother, James Haydel; 2 grandsons, Peter and Bennett Diaz. Preceded in death by his former wife, Jean M. Haydel and a brother, Frank Haydel.
