An avid hunter and fisherman, he passed away peacefully at home at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, surrounded by loved ones. He was born Aug. 30, 1931, in New Orleans and was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired engineer and consultant of Exxon Chemical. He was a member and past commander of the Baton Rouge Power Squadron, a Navy veteran and member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was a 1948 graduate of Catholic High and attended LSU. Visiting will be at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., Friday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, celebrated by Monsignor Gerald Lefebvre. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice Todd DAquin daughters and sonsinlaw, Susan and Robbie Dupont Lisa and Mark Sanders Sally DAquin Lauren and Rob Field and Molly and Mike Kimble sons and daughtersinlaw, Todd and Natalie DAquin and Dane and Bipsy DAquin grandchildren, Robert Dupont, Jeffrey Dupont and wife Larie, Allison Wisdom and husband T.J., Aubrey Ueltschey and husband Lee, Garrett DAquin, Joel Sanders, Thomas Sanders and wife Casey, Kelly, Courtney and Connor Sanders, Dana Todd and husband Michael, Adam, Emily and Laura DAquin, Davis, Kate, Daniel and Addie Field, Maggie, Ann Malloy and Max Kimble and greatgrandchildren, Peyton and Ainsley Ueltschey and Mia Wisdom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Breedlove DAquin and Fernand Thomas DAquin Sr. and uncles, Leon J. Breedlove and Roy W. Breedlove. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family would like to give a special thanks to his caregivers, Andrea, Holly, Dianah, Tamila and Fostoria from Always Best Care and to St. Joseph Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a Catholic charity of your choice.
