A retired operator with Ethyl Corp. and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2008, at Ochsner Medical Center. He was 88, a native of Baywood and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Tom Ranzino. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by three sons, Felix Dawson and Gregory Dawson, both of Baton Rouge, and Jeffrey Dawson, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Doris Milburn, of Zachary; five grandchildren, Susan Riley, Kara Samson, Jim Dawson, Aimee Dawson and Ashley Dawson; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Dawson; mother, Sally Sturges Dawson; wife, Enola Daigre Dawson; two great-grandchildren, Trace and Connor Riley; three brothers and a sister.
