Faye Graves

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” – Psa. 116:15.

On August 30, 2022, Faye Doris Graves passed from this world to await her reward in the next. Born in 1930 in Bogalusa, LA to her parents, William Lamar Harper and Nora Peavy Harper. She had three sisters and one brother, all of which predeceased her. Faye’s husband, Robert L. Graves passed in 1986.

She is survived by her daughter, Fran Smith Denham and her husband, Darrel; her sons, Ronald S. Smith and wife, Della, Johnny R. Graves and wife, Karen; grandchildren include Joe W. Covington (deceased 1996), Jamie S. Covington with his wife, Kimberly, Monica Graves Snoddy with her husband, Brent; great-grandchildren include Brittany A. Covington, Blaine A. Covington, Christopher Gomez, and Shawn Gomez.

Faye served as Human Resources Manager at J.C. Penney Corp. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for thirty years.

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me; Your rod and staff comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” Psa. 23.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Resthaven Funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM until services at 3:00 PM. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
