Evylen Fresina Miller was a caring and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away on July 15, 2021, at the age of 68, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to Dominick and Evylen “Pat” Fresina on November 12, 1952. She was a graduate of Baker High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University.
She is survived by her two children, Erin Kendrick, and Tyler “TJ” Kendrick; five grandchildren, Blake Bankston, Landon Kendrick, Hailey Kendrick, Ethan McCarthy, and Stefani McLain; and three siblings, Chuck Fresina, Dominica Medine, and Jo Leah Wade.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lynn Miller; and parents, Dominick and Pat Fresina.
She retired from the city of Baton Rouge Purchasing Department and Gulf States Utilities/Entergy. She had many passions, but her one true passion was her family and friends. She never met a stranger. She had an infectious smile, a contagious laugh, and a sense of humor that could always make anyone laugh.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care she received in the ICU-C unit at Baton Rouge General Hospital on Bluebonnet. The family would also like to personally recognize ICU nurse, Teril Cooper; not only for the loving care he gave to Evylen during her final moments, but also for being such a great support system for the family during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, July 22, 2021, beginning at 4:00 PM, with visitation following from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
