Evon Wise

Evon Wise, age 89, native of Baton Rouge, LA, and resident of San Jose, CA for the last 6 years, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2015.

Evon was a graduate of Louisiana State University in the 1940's where she majored in accounting. She was an employee of the State of Louisiana, having worked in many departments. Evon retired from the state after working there for 35 years. At her retirement, Evon was the assistant director of Risk Management. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, ABWA, and Alpha Chi Omega sorority at LSU.

Evon was a painter, poet, and a quilter. Evon made quilts for all of her family and friends in all sizes. Evon loved and was beloved by her family and friends in Baton Rouge and San Jose.

Evon is survived by her daughter, Betsy Wise Wagner; son, William Edward Wise; grandsons, Robert Stetler Wise, IV, Matthew Robert Wise, and James Lucas Wise; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert Stetler Wise, Jr.; daughter, Bonnie Yvonne Wise; and son, Robert Stetler Wise, III.

Visitation will be observed on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
