Everett Wise

Everett C. "Buddy" Wise, age 76, a native of Baton Rouge, and long-time resident of Independence, LA, passed away on September 1st 2018.

After serving proudly in the US Navy, he continued his commitment to our country for 31 years as a Baton Rouge City Police Officer, as well as being active for 12 years in the Army National Guard.

Buddy is survived by his children: Robin Wise McCants and husband Kevin; Everett C. "Chuck" Wise III and wife Kitty; Alice Wise Miguez and husband Mark; Sandy Wise Lanoux and husband Chad; Brandy Arnold Mitchell and husband Gary; a sister, Bobbie Graves; as well as 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Verna T. Wise; his parents Everett and Florence Wise, stepdaughter, Twyla Arnold and grandson Terrell K. Wise.

Pallbearers will be Everett "Chuck" Wise, Gary Mitchell, Kevin McCants, Randall McCants, Jason Chauvin and Wayne Lomax.

Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 10:00 AM; with services following at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to either the American Cancer Society, Back the Blue Baton Rouge or Baton Rouge First Responders Fund.

The family wishes to extend our grateful appreciation to Dr. Jay Henitz, Dr. David Oubre, and the staff at Ameracare Family Hospice and Home Health for the care they provided.
