He was 85, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Phoenix. He served for four years in the Navy during World War II and additional 38 years in the New Jersey Army National Guard. Visiting at Trinity Lutheran Church, 10925 Florida Blvd., Saturday, June 25, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by Vicar Nate Hill. Entombment in Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack, N.J. Survived by his wife, Betty Tyler DeWitt two daughters and sonsinlaw, Marie DeWitt Alberque and Bruce, and Diane DeWitt Mazzacca and Gary stepdaughter, Katherine Williams and husband Phillip two sons and daughtersinlaw, Richard DeWitt and Pamela, and Russell DeWitt and Kristy stepson, Wayne Edgens brother, Jerry Frederick DeWitt and wife Georgie 10 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
