Evelyn Louden

Evelyn Pulley Louden passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the age of 92.

Evelyn received a bachelor’s degree from Radford College in education and taught 5th and 6th grade until she had children.  She became a mom and a homemaker and would eventually volunteer teaching GED classes.  She was a member and officer in the Lagniappe Woman’s Club.  She was an avid bridge player and a member of numerous bridge clubs.   She was a big LSU and Virginia Tech fan, attending LSU football and basketball games.  She was dedicated to her family and she attended all of her grandchildren’s events.

She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Lett and husband Tim, Luanne Pusateri and husband John and Lyn Hassenboehler and husband Greg; a son, Rick Louden and wife Debbie; eight grandchildren, Christine Kelly (Melissa), and Steve Lett (Vivian), Paul Louden, Brian Louden, David Pusateri (Allison), Joe Pusateri (fiancée Courteney), Ashley Hassenboehler, and Brad Hassenboehler; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Louden, Sr.; parents, Thomas and Elsie Pulley; siblings, H. Paige Pulley and Doris Pulley Todd.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.  For people who are concerned with the spread of Covid, a Celebration of Life will be celebrated at a future date.
