Eugene Gene Leach, 83, passed into the arms of Christ on Monday, May 19, 2014. He was a resident of Baton Rouge, graduated in 1949 from Greensburg High School and was the son of John Gus and Juanita Little Mama Leach also of Baton Rouge.
Gene proudly served aboard the USS Prairie during the Korean War. He retired from Sears, and then in 2000 from Freds Amusements. He has been a long time member of Jefferson Baptist Church. He was an avid follower of LSU and recognized for his elaborate Christmas lighting
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Florence Cal a daughter Donalyn Saxon and husband, Ron two sons, David Roshto and wife, Nancy, and Art Roshto and wife, Ann four grandchildren, Sam and wife, Michelle, Tiffany and husband, Charles, Dan, Thomas and wife, Kristen seven greatgrandchildren, Nicole, Taylor, Landon, Alexis, Ava, Reece and Reed sister, Jane Metlock and close friend, Johnny Savoy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Juanita Leach son Michael Mike Leach sister, Irene TC Hanks: brotherinlaw, Willard Hootie Hanks brother, John Leach and beloved friend, Lloyd Ray.
Visiting will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, on Wednesday, May 21, 2014
from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and will resume on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 9:00 am until military service
at 10:00 am. Interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, in the Garden of Honor.
