Eugene Hedges

Eugene Joseph Hedges, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the age of 84. Eugene was born on December 2, 1939, in Bayou Pigeon, Louisiana, son of the late Ezora and Sidney Hedges. 

He served in the United States Army. After serving, he worked and retired from Shell Chemical in Geismar, Louisiana. He always enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

Eugene is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Jane David Hedges; daughter, Julie Hedges Lato (Thomas); son, Michael Hedges (Michelle); grandchildren, Madeline Lato, Sadie Lato Tassin (Bradley), Dominic Lato, Collin Hedges, Jacob Hedges, and Adeline Hedges; and great-grandchild, Austin James Tassin. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to the LA War Veterans Home and Hospice of Baton Rouge.

A private family service will be held for Eugene at a later date. We appreciate everyone’s gracious love and support during this difficult time and thank you for respecting our privacy.
