A retired carpenter and a resident of Colyell, he died Thursday, April 23, 2009. He was 63. Visiting at Colyell Baptist Church on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Val Taylor, the Rev. Delmas Taylor and the Rev. T.D. Buddy McMorris. Survived by his wife, Carolyn McMorris; two daughters, Vickie Averett and husband William, and Melissa Betsill and husband Henry; two sons, David McMorris and wife Amanda, and Darron McMorris, of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Doris Scivique and her husband, Reno, and Norma Lee Watts and her husband, the Rev. D. Ray Bo Watts; brothers, Silvie McMorris and wife Jeanette, the Rev. T.D. Buddy M. and wife Floyce McMorris; two sisters-in-law, Ema Lou McMorris and Barbara Jean McMorris; eight grandchildren, Shonda Thornton and husband Colt, Will Averett, Paige Martin and husband Todd, Samantha McMorris, David McMorris, Ashley Betsill, Billy Betsill and Cody Betsill; two great-grandchildren, Colton Bezar and Addyson Thornton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Myrtle McMorris; two brothers, the Rev. L.G. and Ernest McMorris; two nephews, Michael Ray McMorris and Lonnie McMorris; and a brother-in-law, Jim Lanier.
