Errol Marie Barr Clark died peacefully Friday, March 28, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a great cook, seamstress, candy maker and card player. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Moncla. She attended St. Anthony Elementary School in Bunkie and graduated from Bunkie High School in 1939, where according to friends she was a great dancer. She later graduated from Souel Business College in New Orleans. Preceded in death by her parents, Dawson and Lonie Bordelon Barr; husband of 30 years, Calvis Clark; youngest son, Dalbert Clark; grandchildren, Michelle Clark, Misty Clark and Jonathan Clark; brother, Paul Barr; and son-in-law, Robin Beridon. While in Bunkie, she was Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters for two terms, president of St. Anthony Altar Society, charter member and president of Gardenette Garden Club. She worked at McConnel's Clinic in Bunkie, LSU-Alexandria, Nursing Division and moved to Baton Rouge after the death of her husband to work at LSU in Baton Rouge. She had wonderful adventures and stories to tell of her tenure as a housemother at various sororities, fraternities and women's dorms until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, Altar Society, KC Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters, Bea's Cenacle Prayer Group, Schaenstath Statue Member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cajun Red Hat Society and numerous card playing groups. Survived by three children, Dr. Mike Clark and spouse Dottie Buckner, of Guatemala Home for Children in Guatemala, Charlotte Clark Guidry and spouse Wayne Guidry, of Opelousas and Virginia Clark Beridon, of Baton Rouge; 11 grandchildren, Tony Clark, Chad Clark, Becky Clark, Liz Clark, Tanya Clark, Christie Clark, Kelly Guidry, Kim Guidry, Katherine Guidry, Justin Beridon and Craig Beridon; and 10 great-grandchildren. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, March 30, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 5 p.m. Visiting at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, on Monday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Jerry Martin. Burial at Pythian Cemetery, Bunkie, on Monday at 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Guatemala Home for Children, P.O. Box 12764, Lake Charles, LA 70612.
