Rev. Ernest L. Miller went to his permanent home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:30pm surrounded by his wife, son and daughter. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eva LeBlanc Miller, daughter, Laurie Conrad and husband Richard Conrad III son, Matthew Miller granddaughters, Allye, Carlye, LeeAnne Conrad Stockstill, Richard Conrad IV great granddaughter, Layne Stockstill brother, Archie Miller and wife Bobbie, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Ernest was born in Baton Rouge on October 18, 1930. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Eva Denham Miller and brother, Donald Ray Miller. He served his country in the United States Army in Japan and the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. Upon return, Ernest attended Louisiana State University and graduated from McNeese State University. Ernest was a member of Maranatha Fellowship Church of God. Rev. Millers life was spent caring for others with whole hearted selflessness. Over 30 years, Ernest humbly delivered with his deep bold voice the eternal hope of the Good News to the wonderful people in the islands of the Bahamas through Ernest Miller Bahamas Missions. Year after year, he served God in the Bahamas by offering his huge smile, his encouraging words and his own hearty laugh. Today, thousands of angels in heaven rejoice as one of Gods missionaries had arrived to his long awaited home. They are enjoying his comical laughter like we did for so many years. The Lord knows the days of the upright and their inheritance shall be forever. Psalm 37:18. Ernest was an avid LSU sports fan. With both of his granddaughters on the school basketball team, he never missed a game. His passion for developing young people started during his early coachingteaching career before he went into full time ministry. Ernest was truly a civil war buff and will forever be remembered by his love ones for his infamous history story telling. Visitiation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 11am until service at 2pm. Burial will be in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
