Ernest P. "Dickie" LeBlanc completed his earthly journey at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Old Jefferson Community Care Center. He was 92, born in Morganza on November 15, 1925, to Abel and Corrine LeBlanc. He was a kind man with a Christian heart, a sweet spirit, and a gentle soul. He was an amazing husband of almost 65 years to his precious wife, Annie; a wonderful father to his five children whom he adored; and a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He loved gardening and could grow anything! He never met a stranger and was never heard to say an unkind word about anyone. He was a hard worker all of his life and has been an inspiration to his family, as well as all who had the privilege of knowing him, and he was a shining example of what a husband, father, grandfather, and above all, a Christian, should be. He is survived by his wife, Annie; his children, Angela Thompson, Cindi Dier (Tony), Kelly LeBlanc (Michele), and Danny LeBlanc (Lisa); sister, Laura Daigle; grandchildren, Heidi Babin, Jimmy Root, Preston Thompson, Adriane Mack, Justin Thompson, Hannah Black, Kate LeBlanc, Josh LeBlanc, Natalie LeBlanc, Jeremy LeBlanc, and Luke LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Gracyn, Kenadie, and Kenzlie Babin, Daniel, Anna, and Nicholas Thompson, Jack, Grace, and Lilly Thompson, Sophie Mack, Olivia, John Isaac, and James Black, and Jamison and Garrett Root. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Corrine LeBlanc Root; siblings, George LeBlanc, Norman LeBlanc, Vella Bouquet, Enola Bouquet, and his twin brother, Ervin LeBlanc; granddaughters, Ashlyn and Alison LeBlanc, and son-in-law, John Thompson. Visitation at Resthaven Garden of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until services at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation to your favorite charity. Special thanks to the entire staffs of Old Jefferson Community Care Center and Clarity Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
