Ernest D Cain

Ernest D. Cain was born on March 15, 1952, to John and Francis Cain in Westport, Louisiana. He passed away in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 13, 2023, at the age of 71. Shortly after high school, Ernest joined the Army and he continued to serve his country for over 15 years. During that time, he served in the Vietnam War. After his time in the Army, Ernest worked in construction as a pipefitter. Spending time in nature was something that Ernest loved, and he went on five mile walks every day. He was a very artistic man; in his younger years he worked a lot with blown glass. He was a talented guitarist and also enjoyed painting and drawing, a hobby that is shared by both of his sons.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, John and Francis Cain and sister, Betty Radford. He is survived by his sons, Holden (Constance) Cain and Ryan (Adriann) Cain; grandchildren: Dillon Willer, Artemia Cain, Severin Cain, and Zandon Cain; and siblings: Delia Thornhill, Debra Maricle, Shirley Cain, Wilton Dean “Pappy” Friday, Tracey Friday, and Truman Friday.
