Erma Kahn

Erma Marie DeCastro Kahn, 98, passed away at her daughter's home in Denham Springs on May 20, 2018. She was born June 30, 1919 in Frontenac, Kansas to Fortunato and Maria (Baudino) DeCastro. She lived most of her adult life in Baton Rouge, La.

She is survived by her son, J. R. Kahn, Jr and his wife Jane of Alto, New Mexico; daughters, Trudy Smith of Baton Rouge and Mary Jo Efferson and her husband Richard of Denham Springs; grandchildren and spouses, Jennifer Walker, Tracey Mathis (Josh), Kyle Smith (Chela), Jaime Sims (Jeff), James Kahn III (Erin), Louis Kahn; 10 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and love of her life, James Kahn Sr.; son-in-law, Ray Smith; brothers, Mike and Joe DeCastro; and sisters, Jennie Nolan and Angelina Cannaday.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, La. on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 9:00am until funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will immediately follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
