A remodeling contractor, he died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 48 and a native of St. Rose. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Jan. 25, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Mike Schatzle. Entombment in St. George Mausoleum. He is survived by his wife, Karen C. Zeringue; father and mother, Alvin L. and Gloria R. Zeringue, of St. Rose; a daughter, Sarah M. Zeringue, of Baton Rouge; son, Shane A. Zeringue, of Baton Rouge; a sister, Valerie Z. Miller and husband Warren Jr., of Roseland; three brothers, Brian L. Zeringue and wife Theresa, of New Iberia, Scot M. Zeringue, of Destrehan, and David W. Zeringue and wife Pamela, of Luling; and his Honduran family, Mercedes Paz and Salvador S. and Emy Canahuati, and all of his family in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward J. Jr. and Loretta P. Ruiz, Amilcar J. Jr. and Leona H. Zeringue; and uncles, Richard and Charles Zeringue. He was a brave soul, loving husband and wonderful caring father who lost a seven-year battle to cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Jay Brooks and all his staff at the Ochsner Clinic, Cancer Services of Baton Rouge, St. Joseph Hospice and all of his caring family and friends.
