John "Eric" VonMonarch, age 68, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on March 10, 2016.
In his early years, Eric loved shooting pool and he owned Mugsy's Billiards for 10 years. Eric has always had a passion for classic cars. He was a member of the Cajun Classic Chevy Club. He was always up for new adventures and had a love for outdoor activities including Kayaking, hiking, golfing, and camping. Eric was an avid traveler and his 2 most favorite trips were his cross country trips to Alaska.
Eric is survived by his wife of 32 years, Debbie Diez VonMonarch; his mother, Neva Theriot VonMonarch; his niece, Amanda and her husband, Elvis Stewart, Jr.; his nephew, Jacob and his wife, Jessica Diez; three great-nieces, Debra Grace and Ella Stewart, and Becca Diez; and one great-nephew, Blake Randall Stewart, all of whom added joy and laughter to his life. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Jacob VonMonarch; and his grandparents, Mary Depta Manning, Horace J. Theriot, Sr. and Daisy Morrison Theriot Reinert.
Visiting hours will be observed on March 14, 2016 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 9:00 AM until religious services at 11:00 AM.
Pallbearers will include Mac Versaw, Prentiss Stevens, Randy Babin, George Remmetter, John Mollere, and Matt Foretich.
Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
