Eric Verbois

Eric Joseph Verbois, age 61, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015.

He believed in giving people opportunities, which he was able to do through his vocation as a teacher at Louisiana Technical College. He was a fine and kind man who will be missed dearly by all.

Eric is survived by his wife of 39 years, Brenda Harelson Verbois; his son, Benjamin Verbois and fiancée Heather Sistrunk; his brother, Michael Verbois (Kathleen); his five sisters, Marlene Stokley (Milton), Rita Kahl (Clifford), Lynette Reine (Kenneth), Brenda Jones (Curtis), Loretta McGehee (Rodney); sister-in-law Carol Green and brother-in-law Kenneth Harelson (Molly); numerous nieces and nephews, who thought the world of their Uncle Eric and he thought the world of them.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Morgan Verbois and Irma Porier Verbois; his brother, Gary Verbois; and his sisters, Connie Mathis and Mona Aucoin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Thursday, August 27, 2015, from 12:00 PM until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home at 2:00 PM.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Donations can be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
