Emmitt Cavalier, age 69, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on October 2, 2016.
He was a Certified Safety Professional who worked in industry and at the LSU Fire and Emergency Training Institute.
Emmitt loved his grandchildren, watching Saints/LSU Sports, and walking his dogs. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. He was very close to his brothers in the Blackhorse 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia. Allons!
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Goodwyne; his daughters, Marcia Cavalier Richard and husband Shawn, and Elizabeth Karen Cavalier; his grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Cavalier, Ryan Richard, Claire Cavalier Callegan, and Andrew Richard; his brother, Joseph O. Cavalier, Jr. and wife Betty; his Aunt, Dora Michelli; three nieces, a nephew and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph O. Cavalier, Sr. and Helen Elam Cavalier.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, October 6 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, October 7, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 6272 Highway 308, Plattenville, LA 70393, from 10:00am until Funeral Services at 11:00am.
