Emily Widiger

Emily Annette Widiger, 94, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016.

Emily is survived by her daughter, Beth Rachal and husband Mike; her sons, Arthur P. Widiger, David J. Widiger and wife Debra, and James R. Widiger and wife Sandy; her brothers, Jim Bernthal and wife Elsie and John Bernthal; her sister-in-law, Bernice Bernthal; her brother-in-law, Wally Schramm; her grandchildren, Sarah Houser, Tara Widholm, Michael Rachal, Jeffrey Rachal and Kristen Strickland; and eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Arthur C. Widiger; her brother, Harry Bernthal; her sister, Marian Schramm; and her sister-in-law, Eunice Bernthal.

Emily loved spending time with her grandkids, sketching, gardening, and was very active in her church. And she loved being with her church family.

Visitation will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5990 Perkins Rd, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 9:00am until funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
