A retired employee with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, he died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at his residence in Brusly. He was 77, born in Livingston Parish, and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, May 4, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a Moose ritual at 7 p.m. Visiting on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel from 10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Carl Sullivan. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Margaret Crotwell; son and his wife, Gordon and Linda Crotwell, of Grosse Tete; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline and David Hayes, of St. Rose, and Rhonda and Ross Wagner, of Livonia; two stepdaughters and husbands, Wanda and Doren Daigle, of Brusly, and Rhonda and Michael Neal, of St. Cloud, Fla.; stepson and wife, Hugh and Rachel Avery, of Chesapeake, Va.; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers and wives, Hamlet and Helen Crotwell, of Denham Springs, and Robert and Becky Crotwell, of McComb, Miss.; two sisters, Gloria Neva Hood and Nell May, both of Denham Springs; sister-in-law, Lena Crotwell, of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Roy Crotwell and Linnie Crotwell Slaughter; daughter, Sharon Gail Lambert; brother, Clifford Crotwell; and great-grandson, Trystan Young. Mr. Crotwell was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Special thanks to Dr. Brian Gremillion and Life Source Services of Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephew.
