Elva Ruth Brignac Morris passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Sunday, October 16, 2016.
She was 55, born on December 21, 1960 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Baton Rouge Magnet High school and attended Louisiana State University. She was married 36 years to her high school sweetheart, Wendell "Chip" Morris. Her love for the Lord was evident by her 27 years of service as a first grade Sunday school teacher at Istrouma Baptist Church. She worked for the City of Baton Rouge for 28 years and was looking forward to spending her retirement years with her husband, traveling and spoiling her grandchildren. Her passion was spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Chip; her parents, Herman and Loretta Brignac; daughter, Ginger Morris Cagnolatti; son, William Morris (Stephanie); her brother, Aubrey; and her twin sister, Eva Brignac Kelley (David). She also leaves behind her four grandchildren; Gavin, Evie, Kaylea Jo, and Sara.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Visitation will resume at Resthaven Funeral Home, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 10:00am until funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery, 22834 Liberty Rd., Pride, LA, 70770 at 1:00pm.
Pallbearers will be William Morris, Rhett Kelley, Jake Kelley, David Morris, David Kelley, and Aubrey Brignac.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the ICU at the Baton Rouge General for their care.
