Elmer Kovacs

September 9, 1921 — January 28, 2010

Alex, a World War II P47 fighter pilot, of the Greatest Generation, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, in Baton Rouge. He was a native of Fontana, Calif. Memorial service will be held at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, on Monday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. He is survived by his wife, Lora LormandKovacs daughters, Kathryn K. Broussard, and Suzanne DelucaFathersgill and husband Jim grandchildren, Christie DelucaTodd and husband Jake, Tony Seale, Robert A. Toups Jr., and Alexis K. Toups four greatgrandchildren two greatgreatgrandchildren stepdaughters, Leslie Defeo his favorite nurse and husband John, Heidi Mier, and Jessica Rodriguez and husband Ricky stepgrandchildren, Carter and Emma Rodriguez, Meagan Gunter, Katie and Holly Dore. He was preceded in death by his parents, who were natives of Hungary, a sister and a brother. Special thanks to his faithful friend, W.L. Switzer, and Dr. William Moore and his staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeast Ministries Food Bank or the Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
