Ellen Webster Dragna, age 77, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on November 20, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center following complications due to Parkinson's Disease.
Born in Charleston, SC to Ernest and Mildred (Stopplebein) Webster, she grew up in Morgan City, LA, where she graduated from Morgan City High School. After graduating from Nicholls State University, she worked as an English Teacher before she moved to Baton Rouge with her husband Pete. While raising three children, Ellen did volunteer work at her children's schools, with Meals on Wheels, and Girl Scouts. Ellen always enjoyed working with small children and spent some years working at University Presbyterian Day School. Ellen enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, watching LSU sports and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Ellen is survived by two daughters, Donna Dragna Bahlinger and husband Tom of San Antonio, TX and Andrea Dragna of Cypress, TX; one son, Blase Dragna and wife Cheree of Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Christine Bahlinger and Sara Bahlinger; and one sister, Donnie Clement.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Dragna; her parents, Ernest and Mildred Webster; and two brothers, Ernie Webster and Godfrey Webster.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at St. John United Methodist Church, 9375 Highland Rd, Baton Rouge, LA, from 11:00am until funeral service at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or St. John's United Methodist Church in Ellen's memory.
