Elizabeth Ziegler

Elizabeth Ann Norton Ziegler, at age 66, resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on February 2, 2022.

She graduated from Woodlawn High School and studied accounting at LSU. Ann met her soul mate, David James Ziegler in the 5th grade. On June 28, 1975 the two united in marriage.

Ann’s love for music began when she was young. She got involved with the high school band, playing the clarinet and was honored by being band captain. She also enjoyed playing the piano. She appreciated spending her time shopping, going to the movies, and taking trips with her family, friends, as well as attending cousin reunions. Ann especially loved the beach, which was her happy place.

Ann’s passion was to share the love of Christ to everyone she could. She was very involved with Healing Place Church on Highland Road, which included coordinating outreaches for the Cancer Ministry, volunteering with the Medical and Dental outreaches, as well as Cooking for Christ. Ann went on many mission trips to various places, including Mexico and Honduras.

Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her husband, David James Ziegler; her sons, Jeffrey Ziegler and his wife Billie “Nikki” Ziegler, Jason Ziegler and his wife Michelle Ziegler; her brother Joseph Norton Jr., and sister Debra Norton Welch and her husband James “Hoss” Welch; grandchildren Haley, Jeremiah, Abram, Chamberlynn, Jamesleigh, Elijah, Ember, and Magnolia Ziegler.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Byron Norton Sr. and mother, Gracie Julia Coleman Norton.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on February 11, 2022 from 9:00 am until services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
