Elizabeth Holsclaw Sierichs, 93, of Baton Rouge died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
A native of Virginia, she was born in Richmond to Ross R. and Marie L. Holsclaw, and grew up in Hopewell. She attended Mary Washington College and Penn State University. During WWII, she had a job in Buffalo, N.Y., copying blueprints for military equipment. Following the war, she returned to Hopewell and began work as a bookkeeper. She married the late William C. Sierichs in January 1952. A job transfer to an industrial plant here brought them to Baton Rouge in 1972. They were Broadmoor Presbyterian Church members, avid square dancers, supporters of the Baton Rouge Symphony and LPB, and faithful LSU fans.
She is survived by two sons, William Sierichs Jr., of Baton Rouge, and retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Alan Sierichs, his wife, Bettye, their daughter, U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Carolyn Sierichs, all of San Antonio, Texas, three sisters, a brother, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family requests that donations be given to a fund of choice to help victims of the recent area flooding.
