Elizabeth (Liz), passed away Monday evening, January 14, 2019 at her home in the presence of her husband and daughter, Karen. She was born on August 11, 1947 in Stephenville Newfoundland to Michael and Clotilda Reardon. On January 2, 1965, Liz married Sgt. Leon Garnett of the United States Air Force. This marriage produced three daughters, Patricia, Karen and Linda. Following Sgt. Garnett's sudden death in 1972, she met Sgt. John Ricca Jr. and the couple married on July 14, 1973 at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. The new family moved to Baton Rouge after her husband's military discharge and of this marriage a daughter, Christina, was born.

Liz was very devoted to her husband and children assisting the children in their school functions and making formal dresses and costumes for her daughters and their friends while working in real estate and later in retail at Goudchaux, Maison Blanche and Dillards, retiring in 2009. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, making altar cloths and liturgical vestments, working fairs and assisting her husband in Knights of Columbus activities. She was a member of St. Patrick Knights of Columbus Council 8601 Ladies Auxilary.

In addition to her husband and daughters, Liz leaves her sons-in-law, Kenneth Odom, David Thevenet, and John Robinson; grandchildren, Jesse Garnett, Rusty Odom, Kelsey Odom, James Fontenot, Jake Robinson, Laura-Clare Thevenet, Charles Bilbo, and great granddaughter Mazzy Garnett; brothers, sisters and their spouses Patrick (Maxine), Martin (Monica), Raymond (Debbie), Walter, Leonard, Alonzo and Robert Reardon, Theresa Reardon, Shirley Carrigan, Laverna (Roy) Lomond, Colleen (Gerard) Flynn and Celena Hecimovich; brothers and sister- in law LeRoy Robison, and Jimmy and Mary Allen and many nieces and nephews in the US and Canada.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in law Mr. and Mrs. John Ricca, Sr., first spouse Leon Garnett, brothers Walter Edmund and Michael Reardon, son-in-law Bradley Bilbo, brother-in-law Robert Carrigan, and sister-in- law Ann Robison.

Services to be held Tuesday January 22, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Brogdon Lane, with visitation from 9:00 - 11:00 am followed by Mass at 11:00 am. Burial follows at Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or St. Joseph Hospice Baton Rouge.

The family sincerely thanks the staffs of Baton Rouge area hospitals, Feliciana Home Health, Cardiovascular Institute of the South, and Dr. Frank Guidry. Also to the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice for their excellent care and devotion, particulary Mary Alice, Kristen, and Tricia.
