Elizabeth Sue Subie Lea walked into heaven on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the age of 70. Her beloved daughter, Tammie was holding her hand leading the way to her precious Lord and Savior. She was a resident of Gonzales, LA. Born in Winnsboro, LA on December 23, 1942 to Ernest and Thelma Myers. Although she was an only child, her cousins were thought of as her siblings, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, J. Leslie Bucky Lea, Jr. four daughters, Melanie Decou and husband Matthew, Janis Bardsley, Cindy Shaffer, Johanna Lea Jones son, David Lea and sisterinlaw Marilyn Lusk 8 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. She worked for the K Mart Corporation, as a receiving clerk and retired with 21 years of service. She had a natural affection for others and it was contagious. She always expressed joy and laughter with her family and friends. Subie was your go to person if you wanted to discuss movies, books, television series or Elvis Presley. She was a fabulous story teller, you could listen to her tell stories all day. She took pride in her home and loved working in her yard. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Thelma Gorman Myers daughter, Tammie Purpera soninlaw, Robert Bardsley and brotherinlaw, Joseph Lusk. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will resume at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 10:00 am until funeral service at 12:00 noon. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Matthew, Phillip and Jordan Decou, David Lea, Brandon Shaffer, Mitch Bardsley, Mike Creel, and Todd Thompson.
