Elizabeth Goode Baker, 96, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on September 15, 2017.
Elizabeth's undergraduate and graduate degrees were from Louisiana State University. She was a teacher of accounting and mathematics and a school librarian. She loved to travel. Some of her favorite travel memories were hot air ballooning over the Serengeti, riding an elephant in India, cruising the Amazon, and a R.V. trip to Alaska. She also enjoyed going to the beach, shopping, and reading. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Carl S. Goode and his significant other, Lynn Aertker of Baton Rouge; her daughter, JoBeth Goode Brown and husband, Hale W. Brown of St. Louis, Missouri; her grandsons, Paul M. Goode and his wife, Sallie Goode of Katy, Texas, Alan D. Goode and his wife, Sally Goode of Austin, Texas, and Kevin W. Brown of Wichita, Kansas; and three great grandsons.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Gillory, Samuel C. Goode, and I. Milton Baker; her parents, William I. Twiner and Gladys S. Twiner; and her brothers, William S. Twiner and Malcolm L. Twiner.
Pallbearers will be Wick Barfield, Dr. E. Paul Booth, Hale W. Brown, Kevin W. Brown, Daryl J. DIetrich, and Paul M. Goode.
Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory on Tuesday, September 19, from 9:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be sent to First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge or to the Louisiana Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, Louisiana.
