Eleanor Constance Berta of Baton Rouge Louisiana passed away Friday evening November 23, at her home peacefully, with her family present. Eleanor Berta, born in Brooklyn, New York, was a comptometrist and met her husband Richard Karl Berta, now deceased, working at the AC Horn Company, and fell in love. They lived in the home they built together in New Jersey. Eleanor took care of more children than her own: nieces and nephews, sons and daughters of friends, visiting travelers who passed through and stayed with Eleanor and Richard. Eleanor and her husband also traveled often, visiting his homeland Germany. They lived in Vermont and Florida Eleanor moved to Baton Rouge 12 years ago to live with her daughter Janet and husband Jack Lamabe, now deceased. Eleanor was loving, witty, loved her piano, had a delightful sense of humor which always caught everyone by surprise. She is survived by her daughters Janet Lamabe and Virginia Bogert her granddaughter Jennifer Lamabe her grandson John Richard Lamabe and his wife Stacey her granddaughter Phoebe Bogert and her husband Eddward Key and her great grandchildren, Sarah Thrash, Alexander Lamabe, and Severn Eva Bogert Key. She has a sister Dorothy Mehler in New York and brother Albert Tieniber living in Florida. Eleanor Bertas family is grateful to Dr. Gahan and Hospice of Baton Rouge for their tender care. Eleanor, our dear mother, grandmother and GG, will be missed very much. Mass will be conducted by the familys friend, Monsignor Lefebrve, Monday, November 25, 12:30 pm and Visitation 11:30 am. at Most Blessed Sacrament. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice of Baton Rouge or the charity closest to your heart.
