He was a certified public accountant, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Orleans. He died at age 78 at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor in Baton Rouge. Visiting at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, on Monday, May 4, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Mike Schatzle, celebrant. Entombment in the church mausoleum. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Spicuzza Blancher; two daughters, Beth Blancher and Ginger Ohlenforst and husband Tim; a son, Eldon Carl Don Blancher II and wife MadeIeine; 10 grandchildren, Eldon Carl Trey Blancher III, Rhett Clement, Adam Blancher and wife Kristen, Christin Clement, Stephen Cook, Nathaniel Blancher and wife Laura, Rachel Clement, Collette Cook, Nicole Cook and Justin Blancher; and two great-grandsons, Thomas Christian Blancher and Benjamin Lucas Blancher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton U. and Evelyn M. Blancher. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church.
