Effie Martin

A native of Killian, LA, Jean passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake in Walker, LA. She was 77, born March 22, 1936. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 2 pm until 5 pm. Eastern Star Service at 3 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10 am. Interment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Jean is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 61 years, Ken Martin daughter and soninlaw, Julyn and David Duke daughterinlaw, Becky Martin granddaughter Kyla and husband Michael Duhe grandson, Josh and wife Emily Martin and six greatgrandchildren, Julian Duhe, and Caleb, Daniel, Benjamin, Abigail, and Fisher Martin. She was preceded in death by her siblings, James Willard Pate, Bill Pate, Helen Ledbetter, and Lily Alverson sons, Kyle Van Martin and William Kenneth Martin and greatgrandson, Jacob Thomas Martin. Jean was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 36. She enjoyed being with her family, close friends, and in the company of her beloved dog Tazzy.
