Edwin Arthur “EE” Burton, age 93, born June 25, 1928, passed away at home Wednesday. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He served in the US Army, retired from the Baton Rouge Fire Department, and worked for many years in the flooring industry. He enjoyed LSU sports, his cats, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by children, Joan Burton LeBlanc (Kenny), and Emily Burton Bowman; grandchildren Kristy Bourgeois, Brandi Burton, Ivy Harp (Eric), Amy Townsend (Jared), Troy Burton, Travis Burton (Courtney), Michael Bowman, Mary Burton, Melanie LeBlanc, Melissa Bowman, Samantha LeBlanc, and Sydney Babin (Kyle); eleven great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Windom and Guy; sisters Rose Braud and Edith “Faye” Dagoberg. Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Boudreaux Burton, children, Stephen Burton and Joyce Burton, brothers, George, Jr., John Clyde, and Alvin; son-in-law David Bowman, and parents George and Odile Burton. Visitation will take place at St. George Catholic Church at 8:00 AM, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
