Retired from the city of Baton Rouge after 30 years in the petrochemical industry, he died Monday, June 22, 2009, at 7 p.m. at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 86, a native of Arkansas and a U.S. veteran of World War II. Memorial service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2021 Tara Blvd., on Friday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Amy Zietlow, pastor, and Faith Jenson. Survived by his wife, Shirley Morgan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn Bourque and Gerald, of Woodland, Texas, and Sherry Morgan and Elliot, of Birmingham, Ala.; two stepsons, Michael Baumbach and wife Faye, of Lafayette, and Charles Chuck Baumbach and wife Barbara, of Ridgeville, S.C.; sister, Mildred Harding, of Hot Springs, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Amy and Morgan Bourque, Ryan Morgan, Erin Baumbach O'Kelly and husband Connor, Brent Baumbach, Matthew Baumbach and Charles Baumbach; Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Hazel Morgan; sister, Janice Phillips; and brother-in-law, Joe Harding.
