Edward Duhe, Jr. went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2019, passing away unexpectedly near his home on Lake Rosemound, Louisiana.
Ed was born on November 12, 1947 in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Edward and Aline (Woodall) Duhe. First and foremost, he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He adored his loving wife of 33 years, Linda Clemens Duhe, and his children, Damon Duhe and wife Angela, Chad Duhe, Blaine Duhe and wife Ashley, Jennifer Hebert and husband Reggie, Wendy Starkey and husband Russell, and Julie Duhe.
He particularly enjoyed his role as Paw Paw, and he loved and adored each of his grandchildren, Cole, Hope, and Faith Duhe, Brooks Duhe, Amber Plessala and husband Jack, Alex Hebert, Morgan, Logan, and Hayden Starkey, and great-grandchildren, Forrest and August Plessala.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Sr., his mother, Aline, and his brother, George.
Ed graduated from Covington High School in 1965 before joining the United States Army, with whom he served during the Vietnam War. After returning, he worked for Shell Chemical in Geismar, Louisiana for 32 years before forming his own company, Pelican Equipment Integrity. He later worked as an independent consultant before recently deciding to retire from professional work.
Ed lived one day at a time, enjoying each moment in its fullest. He loved to build and tinker around the house and garden, but will be best remembered with an apron on and stirring spoon in hand. He was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 7856 in St. Francisville, and a frequent volunteer with the Lake Rosemound Association.
