Edna Brister, age 86, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016.
Edna was born in Rayville, LA, and moved to Columbia, LA, where she graduated from Caldwell High School. After moving to and living in Monroe, LA, Edna moved to Baton Rouge where she worked and retired from South Central Bell. She loved spending time with her family, taking pictures, shopping, and cooking her famous cornbread.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Patricia and husband Cloyce Wheeler; sons, Marlon Fisher and wife Lisa, Doug Fisher and wife Sandy; daughter, Becky and husband Colonel Steve Aiton (US Army); grandchildren, Lisa Wheeler-Kelleher, Jody Wheeler, Ashley Credeur and husband Andy, Angie Fisher, Danny Fisher and wife Heidi, Stevie Fisher and wife Geni, Timmy Fisher, Missy Fisher, Megan Aiton, Matthew Aiton, and Ryan Aiton; and eight great-grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Jim "Bud" Brister, and parents, Henry & Leila Shipp.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816, from 11:00 am until services at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
