Edith Smith

Edith Kemp Smith, 56, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at her home. She was born in New Orleans, LA and a resident of Batchelor, LA. Edith graduated high school in Monterey, LA. She graduated from college with a Masters degree in nursing and worked in the nursing field for over 20 years, dedicating most of her time taking care of others.

Edith is survived by her mother, Shirley Kemp daughter, Jessica Day and husband Aidan sons, Jeremy Dew and wife Katrina Wilcox, and Jordan Dew grandchildren, Michael and Nicolas Day, and Naomie Dew brothers, Victor Kemp and wife Beth, and Brian Kemp and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Dean Smith and father, Victor Kemp. Services will be held in Monterey Baptist Church. Service time to be announced at a later date. Resthaven Gardens of Memory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
