Edith Hutchinson

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all, Edith Rose left this world peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Edith, age 82, was a resident of Baton Rouge with her loving husband of 59 years, Charles Hutchinson. She was a born and raised in Angie, Louisiana where she was lovingly known by family as Rose. She moved to Baton Rouge to work at Baton Rouge Lenders Exchange where she met her husband, Charles. Edith was an active Avon consultant for over 25 years. Gardening, cooking and spending time with her family is how she loved to spend her days. She was a second "maw maw" to so many children, especilly those she cared for in her in-home childcare where she was better known as Edda. Whether she was known as "Edith," "Rose," "Mom", "Maw Maw," "Mama Hutch" or "Edda", she touched many lives with her loving spirit. She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Kimmel Williams; two sons, Tommy Hutchinson and Chuck Hutchinson and his wife, Tracey, siblings Trudy Williams, Lacy Doss, Gilbert Ball and Basil Ball; four granddaughters, Mary Kate and Lee Ellen Hutchinson, Laura and Emily Durio, and grandson Miles Durio. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Alton and Mildred Ball; siblings, Doyle Ball, Mae Ball, Nell Ezell, Paul Ball, and Donis Fornea; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Hutchinson and son-in-law, Dale Williams. Pallbearers include Miles Durio, Tad Nicolosi, Steven Bell, Beau Hutchinson, Buddy Ball, Jamie Ball, Jason Prejean, and Nick Prejean. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Resthaven Funeral Home on 11817 Jefferson Hwy in Baton Rouge, La 70816. The interment following in the Resthaven Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Association.
