Eddie Smith, Jr.

Eddie Knox Smith, Jr. passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the age of 69 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Alexandria, LA. Eddie honorably served our country in the United States Army and had an associate degree in accounting. He later retired for the Louisiana State Police Dept. as an accountant. Eddie was a loving son, husband, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his mother, Verdie K. Smith sisters, Lois M. Chaves and husband Ronald, and Ezilda M. Smith brothers, James A. Smith and wife Frances L., Stanley P. Smith and wife Barbie L., and Carl A. Smith and Annie R. sisterinlaw, Barbara L. Smith nine nephews and four nieces. He is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Knox Smith brother, W.J. Smith and wife, Charlotte Smith. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visiting will resume at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 9:00 am until service at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
