A resident of Baton Rouge, he died on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at home after a long struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Earl was born on August 22, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to Elmer and Coletta Weinman. He attended North Olmsted High School, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. After graduating from college, Earl enlisted in the Navy and received his wings as a Naval Aviator in December 1958. He then joined the Helicopter AntiSubmarine Squadron 6 in Imperial Beach, California and was deployed on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge to the western Pacific for two tours. Earl completed his active duty in 1962 and returned to California where he worked for various engineering and computer firms until his move to Louisiana in 2003. He continued working until his retirement in 2012.
Earl is survived by Sandra, his wife of 26 years three sons, Mark Weinman and wife Betsabe, David Weinman and wife Connie, Scott Weinman and wife Ashley four daughters, Patricia, Suzanne, Stephanie, and Bethany four grandsons, Oscar, Matthew, Peyton, and Zackary five granddaughters, Melissa, Sarah, Megan, Lola, and Kailey two greatgrandchildren and brother Bruce Weinman and wife Beryl Ann.
Earl loved fishing, hunting, football, baseball, and basketball. He coached little league baseball for five years and was an assistant high school football coach for four years. Earl was a devoted husband, and an exceptional father and grandfather. Earl will continue to watch his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, through the hole in the roof at Cowboys Stadium. Visitation and service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70816 on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 5pm until 8pm.
