Earl Bedford Peatross Sr., 89, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2016, while Arveline Collins Peatross, his sweetheart and wife of 62 years, held his hand. Earl was predeceased by his first child, Earl Jr., and a grandchild, Leon "Trey," and is survived by seven children: David, Carol (Leon), Gail, Paul (Lisa), Cathy (Mike), Anita, and Mark; six grandchildren: Ryan (Dannin), Kristen (Jeremy), Joseph (Katelyn), Joshua, Earl III "Treye," and Paris; and four great grandchildren: Earl IV, Nevaeh, Ana Belle, and Alex. Earl was born September 2, 1927 in Richmond, Virginia. He was a veteran of World War II and received honorable discharges from both the Air Force and the Navy. Most of his career was spent as a chemist with Allied Chemical, but his real work and greatest accomplishment was raising eight children. He loved history and travel, and always had a story to tell. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on December 27, 2016. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
