Earl Alvin Morvant Jr. passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Baton Rouge General Medical CenterBluebonnet. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, April 4, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6:45 p.m. Visiting at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., on Tuesday, April 5, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Thom Duhe, celebrant. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Survived by his wife, Lydia L. Morvant daughter, Monica Morvant, Orlando, Fla. son, Neil Morvant, U.S. Coast Guard, St. Petersburg, Fla. and sister, Rita Dantagnan. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Thomas More School Tuition Assistance Program, 11400 Sherbrook Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
