A retired operating engineer and a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at Hospice of Baton Rouge Inpatient Unit. He was 86 and a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. until memorial service at noon. Private inurnment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah L. Smith and husband Marshall M., and Donna L Woolley and husband George R.; son, Durward D. Landry and wife Lisa A.; two sisters, Joyce Schilling and Genny Milton and husband H.L.; 10 grandchildren, Kim McIntosh and husband James, Kevin O. Smith, Deidra Causey and husband Chris, Danielle Fontenot, Jennifer Landry, Dayton Landry, Raimee Landry, Daryl Michael Landry, Heather McLean and Raelynne Landry; seven great-grandchildren, Megan, Melody and Matthieu McIntosh, Emma K. Smith, Kyleigh Causey, Jacob Landry and Tyeson McLean; son-in-law, Walter R. Grice; and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Landry; and former wife, Yvonne R. Gonzalez. Preceded in death by his daughter, Denise L. Grice; son, Daryl Wayne Landry; granddaughter, Faith Miranda Grice; parents, Allie P. and Alice Diez Landry; sisters, Mildred Putney and Vera Landry; and brothers, A.P. Landry Jr. and Linwood Landry.
