Earl “Bobby” Landry Duke, age 86, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Friday, June 24th, 2022. He graduated from Baton Rouge High School. Bobby was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, and a master welder after returning home. He was married to Jackie F. Duke for 42 years. He lived his life with purpose and was a devoted husband and father. Bobby was the spiritual leader of the family, laying a strong Christian foundation for his wife and children. He was best friends with two of his brothers, Wiley and Benny, and they enjoyed catching fish together in the lakes, swamps, and rivers of South Louisiana. Bobby and his brothers enjoyed their camaraderie until his final days.
Bobby is survived by his daughters, Dutchie Duke Betz (Jeff), Kim Duke Mansur, Jill Duke Toural (L.J.) and Kimberly Lambert Woods (Mark). He is survived by his sisters, Alice Duke Pope, Margaret Duke Farmer, Beverly Duke Tucker, Judy Duke Newby (Don) and brothers Wiley Francis Duke, Jr. (Audrey) and Benjamin Paul Duke as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brandee Sandusky (Rhett), Blake Betz (Sarah), Thomas Mansur III, Parker Toural, Landry Mansur, Peyton Toural, Jill Griffin (Ryan), and Joni Carlos (Iley), Madison Sandusky, Cora Jane Sandusky, Guy Woods, Jay Griffin, and Madelyn Carlos and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jackie F. Duke; parents, Wiley F. Duke, Sr. and Mamie Hinson Duke and siblings; Willie Ensley Duke, Louise Duke Materiste (Joseph), William Paul Duke (Juanita), Peggy Duke Stockwell (Harold), Jane Ethel “Dutchie” Duke, June Duke Dodd (Leonard), and Jack Donald Duke (Dorothy).
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022, from 1:30PM until services at 3:00PM. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Pallbearers will be Blake Betz, Thomas Mansur III, Parker Toural, Landry Mansur, Peyton Toural, Ensley Duke, Gary Garner and Mark Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be Wiley Duke, Benjamin Duke, Jeff Betz, L.J. Toural, Tommy Mansur, Tommy Bell, Bart Morgan, Wade Bozeman, Bo Bienvenue, Steve Fourrier, and Dave Cothel.
