Earl Crosby

March 6, 1935 — April 19, 2014

Earl Lyn Lynwood Crosby,

age 79, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home. He was born on March 6, 1935 in Colquitt County, Georgia to the late Ralph Vernon Crosby and Evelyn Ruth Tidd Crosby. He graduated from high school in Moultrie, Georgia in May 1953, after which he attended and graduated from Southern Technical Junior College. Lyn then took a job with Standard Oil of New Jersey. In 1963, he entered Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating with a BEE degree in May of 1967. He moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and worked for Dow Chemical Company until retirement in 1994.

Lyn is survived by his wife, Martha Keith Crosby, who he married on September 11, 1965 two sons, Gregory Keith Crosby, Jeffery Tidd Crosby and wife Lauren daughter, Kimberly Lynn Crosby three grandchildren, Spencer Lyn Crosby, Hunter Sebastian Crosby, and Crystal Lynn Crosby and a stepgrandson, Janssen Trahan.

Visiting at Community Bible Church, 8354 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA., where he was a member, on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 9:30 am until service at 11:00 am. Pastor Steve Foster will officiate. Pallbearers will be Spencer Crosby, Malcom Ward, Charlie Peters, Brian Peters, Carol Carpenter, and Ken Collins. Interment to follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge at 1:30 pm. Resthaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
