Dusty Brouillette

May 28, 1980 — November 4, 2012

Dusty left this life on November 4, 2012 in St. Francisville at the age of 32. He was a loan originator, a native of Baton Rouge and a graduate of Bishop Sullivan High School. A gifted athlete who excelled at any sport he played, he had a sharp and tenacious mind that could accomplish any challenge he set his mind to. He was a charming, warm, and funny person that won the admiration and friendship from those that met him, and a natural leader that people were drawn to. His leadership abilities drew him to the Army National Guard where he excelled as a soldier and quickly rose to the rank of Sergeant. He proudly served his country in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 256th BTSB in Iraq. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal during his deployment. Those that he served under respected his abilities so much so that they entrusted him with responsibilities beyond his rank. Those that served with him looked up to him as a leader and counted on him as a friend. He is survived by his mother Joni Simms Miller, stepfather Brian T Miller, two brothers and a sisterinlaw, Jason and Courtney Brouillette, Nashville, TN, and Dylan Miller, Baton Rouge, a nephew, Patrick Brouillette, and a niece, Eliza Brouillette, both of Nashville, grandparents Lloyd and Geri Simms, and Harriet Babin Miller, all of Baton Rouge, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Preceded in death by his father Darrel Brouillette, an uncle, Gary Simms, grandparents Arthur and Vera Brouillette, and Paul E Miller. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial begins at 11:30 am followed by burial at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Garrett Simms, Ben Simms, Hank Schopfer, Miles Schopfer, Christopher Schopfer, Tre Simms, Daniel Brumley, and Jimmy Watkins.
