Dr. Milton Charles Chuck Rush, 72, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 5 P.M. at Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing. He was a loving husband and father who will be terribly missed. A resident of Baton Rouge, LA and a native of Goodyear, AZ. Chuck was a plant pathologist that retired after 39 years of service as a professor at Louisiana State University where he taught and mentored many graduate students from different nationalities. He developed the Blanca Isabel purple rice.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Blanca Isabel Rush mother, Charlotte Tamillo three daughters, Carrie Rush, Ana M. Boone and Claudia I. Rush three sons, Michael C. Rush, Toms A. Rush and Jesus Chucho Retana sister, Cheri Echard and husband Mark, brother, Robert Rush and wife Irene uncle, Ted Wootton and one grandchild, Jacob Rush. He is preceded in death by his father, Milton Reid Rush his pet llama, Homer and his beloved 16yearold cat, Chairman Meow. Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., on Friday, August 16, 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm and will resume on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 8:30 am until funeral service at 10 am.
