Dr. O.C. Bob Granzin, 87, a longtime resident and retired veterinarian of Baton Rouge, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sue Hinson Granzin two daughters, Patti Gay Granzin, and Susan Granzin Stevens and husband Dr. Alfred G. Stevens grandchildren, Chad Carter Stevens and wife Jodi, and Carla Stevens Thompson and husband Adam and greatgrandchildren, Carter Stevens and Gavin Greene. He received the degree of doctor of veterinary medicine in 1945 from Texas AM University and was promoted to the rank of captain in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. He served as treasurer and president of the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association and also served as a member of the East Baton Rouge Parish Public Health Board and on the Baton Rouge Zoo Advisory Committee since its inception. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto L. Granzin and Louise Mueller Granzin four sisters and two brothers. Also survived by a brother, Raymond Shorty Granzin and sisterinlaw, Imelda Granzin. Pallbearers will be Chad Stevens, Adam Thompson, J. Cheston Stevens Jr., Jack Stevens and Steve Bond. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Richard Hidalgo, Mr. Joe Hidalgo, Dr. Lee Morris, Dr. Gordon Pirie, Dr. Bernie Mistretta and Mr. Phil Witter. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 20, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 21, from noon until service at 2 p.m. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway
